A marker is a schematic of the graded pattern pieces that is used as a cutting guide. When produced by experienced marker makers, a marker will optimize the usage of your fabric and improve overall cutting quality.
Our experienced staff uses OptiTex PDS & Marker Making software to produce your markers. We do not use the "AutoNest" function as we recognize that the computer is just a tool and that a skilled marker maker is required to produce markers designed to maximize productivity and minimize labour and material costs .
We produce highly-efficient markers, up to 70" wide, according to the specifications on your Marker Order Sheet (e.g. buffering, block fusing, die-cutting, etc). Our markers will also reflect standard and any specifically requested annotation (e.g. style number, size, bundle codes, piece descriptions, spreading instructions. etc). We can produce production markers, sample markers and yield markers at your request.
We also generate a "mini-marker report" with each marker order for your files (printed on 8 1/2 x 11" letter size paper). This report contains a scaled-down version of the marker along with important costing information such as piece counts, marker length and fabric utilization. Our policy is to fax or email the mini markers to you for approval before we plot the full-size markers.
Why make the transition to CAD-based markers?
- markers can be transferred via email, decreasing shipping costs and improving turnaround time
- markers are archived on our system and readily available for reprinting; having the ability to issue markers to one or more factories allows for more flexibility
- computerized production markers optimize the layout of pattern pieces to minimize waste and maximize profits
- markers can be used for computer cutting or hand cutting
