Summary
We created this beautiful pillow from the remnants of a kimono-style housecoat, brought back from Japan by the client's grandmother. Our client wore the housecoat until it was falling apart, however she couldn't bear to throw it out! We salvaged the embroidered back of the kimono to create the front of the pillow, sourcing matching fabric for the back. Because the embroidery was in such delicate condition, we made an organza slipcover to protect it. This allows the embroidery to still be seen and enjoyed.
